Yanmar Co, Ltd is a Japanese company specialising in the manufacturing and distribution of agricultural, engines and other products. The company is over eighty years old (since 1912) and has a secondary office located in Illinois – America (Yanmar American Corporation). Most notable in their range of equipment are the engines which are used in a wide range of applications, from boats through to agricultural equipment and generators.

Yanmar first began production of their tractors in 1961 and have now established themselves as a leader in what they do with over 1.4 billion sales per year. Perhaps the biggest indictment of Yanmar products is the little known fact that the American giant, the John Deere Co., uses Yanmar to produce their compact/utility tractors and engines. In fact, many John Deere tractors are entirely Yanmar constructed vehicles, made explicitly for John Deere Co.
