Lawn Tractors

Lawn tractors are particularly useful for areas of approximately 1-3 acres in size, or for anyone who own a slawn that is just taking them too long to mow by use of a conventional push-behind variety. Also consider for a moment if your lawn is slightly inclined or uneven then using a conventional push-behind mower is one, not only highly time consuming but, secondly also very often labour intensive…..even if you have a self-propelled model. Hence the popularity and advent of lawn tractors.

Not only do these halve the time you need to spend on maintaining your lawn, they last for years, require minimal up-keep and you can sit down while you do it!! At least the novelty will last a while.. no quite seriously though they are highly practical although the price tag can preclude some prospective buyers.

“Lawn tractors” differ from conventional tractors in that they are, as their name suggests, designed purely for lawn-related work, but can be fitted with optional attachments allowing greater versatility in their usefulness. Their manuverability allows them to be used upto and even around the base of any free standing ornaments or articles that might be placed in your yard.

Now one needs to be realistic when considering one of these. They are through their increased size alone more requiring of room, and are pricey to boot. You are realistically looking at around $1000 minimum, probably for the Craftsman models which while less expensive than John Deere and other brands do not have the same durability. The difference between the humble lawn tractor and garden tractors is in their tires and their ability to attach different tools. A lawn tractor will have tires that minimize the tire-tread on the lawn while a garden tractor will have tires that provide excellent traction for working in the garden. In addition the latter will have sufficient power for using implements such as plows, blades, hoes and so on.
