Tractor Supply Company (TSCO) is a publicly owned American company which is listed on the stock-exchange and specialises in a range of agricultural products (pesticides/herbicides etcetera), namely, farm equipment, personal home equipment, tools, fencing materials, lawn and garden products, clothing (mens & womens), pet and livestock items (such as feed), maintenance equipment (engines, compressors, welders etc) and so forth.

The “Tractor Supply Company” claims to be the “largest retail farm and ranch store chain in the United States ” and has slight under 500 stores across the US , although most are “east of the Rocky Mountains ”. Based in Nashville , Tennessey the company has been around for over 65 years and began operating as a mail order business for farmers wanting and in need of replacement parts for their agricultural equipment. It now services not only full time commercial farmers but hobbyists, and private home owners cum want-to-be handy-men/farmers.

With this in mind the company has evolved in its approach to the market whilst still remaining true to their core constituents. In each store the company has employed – a welder, horse owner and farmer in order to authentic its genuineness in providing legitimate and knowledgeable staff. Given its strong history and grass root base in agriculture it is hardly surprising that when surveyed most market consumers reported that the Tractor Supply Company was a brand they associated with the principles of honesty and good-quality with the statement it’s a brand “you can trust” being ever so apt.

Today the company aims to provide customers with a complete range of complementary products, still in keeping with the agrarian target that the business is based, from livestock care product and even now stocking clothing, lifestyle products, car equipment and more.
