Commercial Mowers

The term ‘commercial mowers’ or ‘commercial lawn mowers’ is a highly misunderstood one. Generally all sellers of mowers have their own range of commercial mowers which they sell as being distinct from their ‘private or personal’ use mowers. What is the difference?

That is a good question. Often they make the distinction based on the size of the area that the user intends to use the mower for with common criteria being greater than 1 acre as a demarcation point for selection of a commercial mower. The other selling point for commercial mowers is the use of heavy-duty parts ensuring that the mower is up to larger more frequent jobs with less wear. There is plenty of variety out there for those looking to purchase a new mower with some of the most popular brands being:-

  • John Deere (reputation for excellent dealer network and high reseller values)
  • Honda
  • Murray
  • Husqvarna
  • Toro
  • Snapper
  • Craftsman (Sears), and even
  • Black and Decker.

Prices can range greatly from between $200-$1000+ for a new lawn mower depending on brand, standards and options elected and $100 - $500+ for second-hand versions.
