Buffalo Grass
Buffalo grass is extremely resistant to extreme conditions surviving not only cold conditions but droughts also. Buffalo grass is a good choice for a lawn when considering uniform cover and aesthetics. The only genuine concern with buffalo grass has to be over-use like if it was to be used for a sports field. Buffalo grass prefers low to moderate levels of water and good drainage. If it is not doing so well it will tended to get overgrow or dominated by other types grasses. In terms of looking after your grass buffalo there are a number of herbicides that can be used to control for weeds.

The characteristic “look” of buffalo grass, Buchloe dactyloides, is that of greyish through to a blue-green colouring in the blades. It is also a finely leafed grass with a slight curl. Buffalo grass gets its name from its utility. Buffalo grass is a native grass to America found in the southern states but rarely as rare across as the eastern sea-board, the sandy soils there prevent its spread. History has it that traditionally buffalo grass was the choice fodder of the wild buffalos.
